Final turn
Carry one living question back to the oracle
The guide unpacks the structure behind the oracle: how yin and yang lines combine into trigrams, how trigrams form the sixty-four hexagrams, and how changing lines produce transformation.
In short
The visual guide turns the I Ching into a readable structure: yin and yang become trigrams, trigrams become hexagrams, and changing lines produce transformation.
Yin and yang
Every hexagram begins with six lines that are either open (yin) or solid (yang).
Trigrams
Three lines create a trigram. Two stacked trigrams create a full hexagram.
Sixty-four hexagrams
There are 64 possible six-line combinations, each carrying a distinct name, image, and traditional meaning.
Changing lines
When a line changes, the primary hexagram transforms into a second hexagram that reframes the reading.
