Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Effective date: July 10, 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Sprout Technologies INC, the operator of Hexagram.Today ("Hexagram.Today," "we," "us," or "our"). They apply to the I Ching mobile applications, including the app listed as AI Oracle: I Ching Wisdom on some storefronts, the Hexagram.Today website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.
2. The Service
The Service provides I Ching casting, hexagram information, generated interpretations, follow-up questions, reading history, daily content, learning materials, sharing tools, and related features. Some features are available without charge, while others require an account or an active premium subscription.
Features may differ between the website, iOS app, and Android app. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features as the Service develops, subject to applicable law and any commitments made at purchase.
3. Readings, AI Content, and Important Disclaimer
I Ching readings, interpretations, follow-up answers, daily content, and other generated material are provided for personal reflection, entertainment, and general informational purposes. They are not factual predictions and do not guarantee any event, outcome, or result.
The Service may use automated systems and third-party artificial intelligence providers. Generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or similar to content generated for someone else. You must review it critically and use your own judgment.
The Service is not a substitute for medical, mental-health, legal, financial, investment, relationship, safety, or other professional advice. Do not rely on a reading or generated content to make a high-stakes decision. Consult a qualified professional when appropriate. If you are in danger or experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriate professional immediately.
4. Accounts and Account Security
Some features require an account created through an available sign-in provider. You agree to provide accurate information, keep access to your account secure, and promptly notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account to the extent permitted by law.
You may not impersonate another person, create an account for someone without permission, sell or transfer your account, or use another person's account without authorization.
5. Your Questions and Other Content
You retain any rights you have in the questions, prompts, feedback, and other content you submit to the Service ("User Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and process User Content only as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your User Content and that it does not violate the law or another person's rights. Do not submit confidential or highly sensitive information that is not necessary for your use of the Service.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may use generated readings and interpretations for your personal, lawful purposes. Because automated outputs may not be unique, other users may receive similar content.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity;
- Infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
- Harass, threaten, exploit, or impersonate another person or submit content designed to cause harm;
- Interfere with the Service, bypass access or subscription controls, probe for vulnerabilities, or introduce malicious code;
- Scrape, copy, or access the Service through automated means except as expressly permitted by us; or
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
7. Premium Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing
Plans and purchase terms
The Service may offer monthly and annual premium subscriptions. The plan, billing period, price, currency, taxes, trial availability, and included features presented to you at checkout form part of these Terms and control for that purchase.
Automatic renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew for successive periods of the same duration unless you cancel before the next renewal, subject to any processing deadline disclosed by the billing provider. By subscribing, you authorize the applicable billing provider to charge the payment method on file for each renewal, including applicable taxes.
Free trials
We may offer eligible users one three-day free trial of the annual plan. The monthly plan does not currently include that trial. Eligibility is determined using purchase history and billing-provider records, and a trial is available only when it is shown at checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to the paid annual subscription at the price displayed at checkout.
Billing providers
Website subscriptions are processed through RevenueCat Billing, which uses Stripe as a payment processor. Purchases made in the iOS or Android app are processed by Apple or Google and may also be reflected through RevenueCat so that premium access can be recognized across supported platforms. We do not directly receive or store your full payment-card details.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time, but cancellation must be completed through the provider where you purchased the subscription. Website subscribers can use the subscription-management option in their I Ching profile when available, or follow the billing-management instructions sent by the provider. App Store and Google Play subscribers must manage their subscription through the corresponding store account.
Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period, so you generally retain premium access until then. Deleting the app, signing out, or deleting your I Ching account does not cancel a subscription.
Refunds and price changes
Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, subscription charges are non-refundable and we do not provide credits for partially used periods. Refund requests for App Store or Google Play purchases are governed by that store's policies. For a website billing issue, contact us at clay@sprout.place. We may change subscription prices for future billing periods by providing any notice required by law or the applicable billing provider.
Cross-platform access
An active premium entitlement may unlock features across supported platforms when you sign in with the same I Ching account. Platform availability, store rules, and feature sets may differ, and uninterrupted synchronization is not guaranteed.
8. Account Deletion
Signed-in users may request account deletion through the available account settings. Deletion is permanent and may remove your profile, saved readings, questions, follow-up messages, history, and account-linked achievements as described in our Privacy Policy.
Account deletion does not cancel or refund an active subscription and does not delete transaction records held by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, or another billing provider. Cancel the subscription through the original billing provider before deleting your account if you want to prevent future renewal charges.
9. Our Content and License to You
The Service, including its software, visual design, text, graphics, databases, trademarks, and other materials, is owned by Sprout Technologies INC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for lawful, non-commercial purposes. No other rights are granted.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service relies on or may link to third-party services, including authentication, hosting, database, analytics, artificial-intelligence, payment, app-store, and sharing providers. Your use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services or content outside our control.
If you choose to copy a prompt or open prepared content in a third-party AI service such as ChatGPT or Claude, the information you send is processed under that third party's terms and privacy practices.
11. Availability and Changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available, but it may be interrupted, delayed, changed, or unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues, third-party systems, legal requirements, or events beyond our reasonable control. We do not guarantee that every feature or reading will always be available, error-free, or preserved indefinitely.
12. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, used the Service abusively, or if we are required to do so by law. Where appropriate, we will try to provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect, including provisions concerning ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and payment obligations already incurred.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and reliability. We do not warrant that the Service or any reading will meet your expectations or produce a particular result.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the exclusions above may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sprout Technologies INC and its affiliates, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, opportunities, goodwill, or business, arising from or related to the Service or these Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$50.
These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and they do not reduce any mandatory consumer rights available to you under applicable law.
15. Applicable Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by applicable law. If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live. Nothing in these Terms requires you to give up mandatory consumer protections or other rights that cannot legally be waived.
16. Apple App Store and Other Stores
If you obtained the iOS application through Apple's App Store, your license to that application is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, unless a valid custom EULA applies. These Terms govern your use of the I Ching service, account, and subscriptions; Apple's EULA governs the license to the iOS application where applicable.
Apple, Google, and other app stores are not responsible for website subscriptions. Store purchases remain subject to the applicable store's purchase, cancellation, and refund rules.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date and provide any additional notice required by law. If a material change affects an active paid subscription, it will apply as permitted by applicable law and the relevant billing provider. Continuing to use the Service after revised Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
